One of my tasks as the marketing manager of Kirigin Cellars involves generating content for the winery's monthly newsletter. I design each newsletter through MailChimp, and send each one to four "lists" or groups with different affiliations and connections to Kirigin Cellars. This includes, but is not limited to, our Wine Club list and individuals who sign up for the newsletter through our website (www.kirigincellars.com). I also organize and manage the list of people who sign up for our newsletter and the opportunity to win two free bottles of wine onsite in our Old Tasting Room. I randomly select the wine winners each month as well.
Before writing each newsletter, I collaborate with our events and operations manager, tasting room staff manager, assistant winemaker and other staff members to learn about recent and upcoming events at our venue, wine updates, anything new occurring with the vineyards (varietals ripening, harvest, water usage, etc.) and other news relating to the winery. After sorting through this information and the collection of photographs I've taken of the property, specific events, the vineyards, staff at work and others during this time period, I condense and organize all of it for our newsletter.
