Concert for Cancer
29th August 2015
To support a children’s cancer hospital in Cairo, Prof. Asharf Ayoub and Dr. Hosney Yosef held a charity event situated in St.Marys cathedral in Glasgow.
The event sold out all available tickets and managed to raise close to £8,000 for the hospital.
The night’s entertainment consisted of an impressive performance of both renowned and original classical compositions by Sarah Ayoub, Laura Ayoub and tenor Christian Schneeberger. The church provided impressive acoustics for both instruments and Christian.
In addition to this, the night included a presentation regarding Egypt's history and contribution to modern western society delivered by Hanan Atalla, plus a successful raffle.
Working with ex-BBC veteran Chilton Inglis, the performance was captured using a soundfield ambisonic microphone positioned centre to both piano and violin.
This was recorded onto a digital four-track recorder.
Hanan Atalla's presentation was captured using a Zoom-H4n.
The night was a success overall.
