Com esta voz me visto

Brief Inspired by a chosen stage outfit featured in the exhibition " Com esta voz me visto" at MUDE (Museu do Design e da Moda) in Lisbon, our goal was to create 2 distinct outfits - one as to a mass market and the second one as a luxury good.
After choosing the outfit created by Pinto de Campos, in 1966, for Amália Rodrigues, we sorted a few key-words as guidelines for both projects: A-line; Blue; strong neckline; organic lines.

.MOOD.
.Mass Market.
Following the concept of the portuguese heritage, for this mass market design, we've chosen to incorporate in de top design the Viana Heart, that builds both the front and back necklines. We kept it flare, with no use of darts, to fit as many body types as possible.
The skirt format represents the various layers seen on the inspiration dress, and the use of fringes represent the shawl that Fado singers often use.

.Luxury Goods.
For the luxury design, we started by analyzing the original dress and noticed the use of decorative ribbons and embossed details. We wanted to maintain the greatness of the dress by making the new one a full rounded skirt with a delicate upper body part. For the straps and curlings we've chosen a shinier blue ribbon to highlight those details. The skirt is supported at the waist, whereas the top is only secure at the shoulders, giving the piece an off-body effect at the back.
