BANANA REPUBLIC FW'12 - "Man Ray Files"

For the Banana Republic Project at  Parsons, where I am currently pursuing a BFA in Fashion Design, we had a starting point inspiration "High and Low" which consisted on taking a High fashion inspiration and diffuse it so it would be understood by the mass market. My main inspiration was Man Ray's photography and the Dada art movement. I have two collections: accessories and women's wear. I experimented with drapes, steel, contrasting tones and textiles. Focusing in the structure for the suits and in the soft shapes and drapes for the sweaters. Here are some samples of the collections.
