Performance «Black Mirror»
The performance is based on a drawing that is formed from the reflection of me and the viewer and the manipulation of the reflections. The black liquid on the mirror gradually covers it, and an ordinary mirror becomes a black mirror. A change of reflection takes place, through a combination of drawing and artistic gesture. At a certain stage the reflection was both in the black and ordinary mirror, creating a duality of reality and human nature. The viewer looks cautiously into the black mirror. In today's culture, the black mirror is the screen of the television, the computer, the telephone - a reflection of the human condition. There are a lot of taboos and myths connected with mirrors, but they have one thing in common: it is an interaction with the otherworld, a sacred and magical function. This raises the question: is the mirror an extension of reality or a twin of reality? The symbolism of water has influenced the mythology of the mirror, this connection is firmly fixed in the consciousness. Awareness of reflection - "as in the water looked into" - the mirror as an eye, a prediction of the future. Interacting with cultural taboos, superstitions and codes, introducing the reflection of the viewer (double) into the performance, thus making the viewer not just an observer, but part of the artistic gesture provoking the struggle between the rational knowledge of the world and the earlier mythological cognition of the world.
