Description:

Tell Tale Heart is a motion picture based on the novel, The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe. The dark story unravels as the protagonist, played by Ignacio Osorio and Juan Santiago, struggles to keep his sanity as he attempts to justify his action and escape the mounting guilt he’s been hiding beneath the surface. The art direction for the piece is meant to reflect the Victorian era in which the original story was written while also reflecting the instability of the main character. The imagery is styled like stencil art/ graffiti to signify a man living on the edge and hiding in the shadows, but also as a representation of his augmented reality. Shakes, glitches and harsh transitions were added to create an unsettling mood.

Communication Objective:
To communicate the instability and internal battle the main character experiences throughout the story and create an unsettling feeling that reasonates with the audience.
 
Adobe Tools:

Illustrator and Photoshop were used to develop assets. Those assets were the brought into After Effects.
