"Le maître d école" of René Magritte. This was the work that initially inspired me to carry back of people's portraits, with contorted heads. When looking at this work interested me that the painter has painted a back character with a seemingly serious posture. Why is he back? What's he doing there alone at night? A picture in a way, but why not show your face? It will be a self-portrait? These were questions I asked myself when observing carefully the first time this work of Magritte.

Ao olhar esta obra interessou-me o facto do pintor ter pintado uma personagem de costas, com uma postura aparentemente séria. Porque está ele de costas? O que faz ele ali sozinho à noite? Um retrato de certa forma, mas porque não mostra a cara? Será um autorretrato? Estas foram perguntas que fiz a mim própria ao observar com atenção pela primeira vez esta obra de Magritte.
