I recently took advantage of a promotion that the Catalina Express was running for a free trip to Catalina Island. I have been looking for some way to stretch myself creatively and make some new work. This looked like a great opportunity and I took it! It's been many years since visiting the tiny town of Avalon and my goal was to do an interesting documentation of the trip. The days before I left, I had a strong sense to make a composite of images in a single frame. This is not my usual way of working so my approach to shoot throughout the day was pretty deliberate. I picked out 4 images to construct the composition and really enjoyed this way of working.
