Exploring Post-Mortem Photography for a portraiture and still life project. The title is derrived from 'vanitas' meaning to contain symbols of death in still life painting as a reminder of its inevitability and 'mortem' from 'post-mortem' meaning after death. Post Mortem Photography was intended on capturing pictures of the deceased as a means of rememberance, by choosing the subject to appear dead the images act as a reminder of the dead, after the death.
