Campaign Design - Illustraitor Introduction

The campaign created aims to portray a hypothetical festival, ‘Home Hits Homage,’ as inviting and fun. As its target audience is young people, the campaign focuses on a trendy and playful design style. The brand aims to expand young people's music taste with ‘new tunes’ from Australia, but also create recognition for emerging Australian artists.

The rhetorical approach taken was ‘metaphors.’ Being a festival new to the music entertainment industry, the campaign includes images of people, speakers, and instruments, making it identifiable as a music festival. The individuality comes through the metaphor of ‘a home’ and connotates to feelings of belonging, invitation and safety. When paired with the varying slogans, audiences are invited to find a home in the new music, people, and environment of the festival. This appeals to a wide audience and promotes an inclusive and welcoming environment for the people interested in the festival. The images are represented in a fun and playful style, leaning into that feeling of nostalgia that you experienced growing up, yet they are still very trendy and current with blocked commercial shapes. This goes along with the emerging Australian artists and bands showcased at the festival. The campaign looks very beachy and hip, adhering to the indie/alt-Australian music and culture of Byron Bay where the festival is located.
