Animal Wuxia Hero
Hi, I have decided I will explain my process on this illustration. First off, it was drawn for Character Design Challenge, prompt was Animal Wuxia Hero.
Now a little about me, I love ancient Japan and this was nearly perfect prompt for me. You can see I was inspired by the old Japanese and Chinese landscape paintings. That is the reason for rectangular shape of my drawing. I also used the Fibonacci sequence to aid my composition.

When creating the character, I knew I wanted to go with simple and playful shapes. Muted colors to fit in with the background, and to create truly harmonic scenery. There is minimum of light and shadows as I wanted to keep it simple.
What bugs me the most about this illustration is probably the jade staff, which lacks the details and is poorly done. I quite like it. There is obviously room for improvement, but I quite like it.

Thanks for watching!
