Project Concept:
The concept of this project is to create an Ad series that best represents something of passion and consists of a Call to Action that is easily recognizable amongst all of the works. MaKayla lives near Los Angeles, California where the homeless population is at an all-time high. She volunteers with a group called Feed The Streets LA and is very passionate about putting an end to homelessness, especially Veterans that are unhoused. Often times, people are more likely to respond to Ads that are noticeable and simplistic, but bold. This project features colors and imagery that stand out and fit together in a series. These choices evoke drive, change, and urgence which helper her catch the attention of those who may see these Ads in real life. The series features the colors black, red, and white as well as black and white imagery from peels.com. MaKayla notices that those colors represented importance and complement each other well. For imagery, MaKayla demonstrates by showcasing real life images of the problem she is wanting to change. For type choice, she decides that Tw Cen MT Condensed looks simple yet clear and concise and she features it amongst her series in a variety of sizes and boldness. She succeeds this project by referencing facts from Veterans Affair to put the issue into perspective. This was done on a 8.5px x 5.5px Print Ad and a 8.5px x 3.67px Print Ad from At Ease Veterans. She also creates a 300px x 1050px Web Ad and a 1080px x 1920px Instagram Story.
