Personal Identity

For my personal identity, I knew that I wanted it to represent who I am as a designer. With this in mind, I decided to pick a few things about myself which I feel would make my logo mean something to me.

I enjoy the challange of minimalistic design. The ability and skill it requires to know when to stop adding to your piece and not "over work" it is an incredibly hard one to grasp. I always have a tendancy to not believe in myself and feel that my minimalistic isnt well designed even when told other wise by my peers. None the less, I keep at it and feel that I am improving every time.

I also feel that I have a "constuctive mind". I noticed in college and university, that whilst I have an easy time imagining 3D construction and planning it out in my head, others in my class struggled, even when they were drawing out plan after plan. Because of this, I was often put in charge of the 3D construction and exhibition layout.

Because of these two factors, I felt the best approach was to start of with polygon shapes and see where it takes me. This may be the answer to a minimalistic design whilst also showing a constructive mind.
After spending a while messing with different, random shapes. I decided thatthey all felt boring, bland and didnt really show who I am as a designer.
I decided that to progress, my logo should contain my initials "KP" within them some how.
After making this abstract shape, I felt that maybe there is something I can do with it. Some way of turning this flat shape formed from my initials, into the meaningful logo/brand I am looking for.
After between 150-200 designs, I came up with this. I decided to give it a feeling of depth and make it slightly 3D. This ticked all the boxes for me, my minimalistic approach to some design problems, my constructive mind because of its 3D, wire frame look. But, most of all, it had my initials hidden away within itself.

Now to move onto colours. I felt that, because of my shy personality, that it would be agood idea to use bright and bold colours to catch peoples eye and bring them over to my designs. It would also mean that my cards stand out among others when on a table or work surface.

The wireframe brand allows me to create abstract shapes for almost anything that I may needs. It is a strong brand that can easily be applied to stationary, tshirts, bags etc without overwhelming the client/customer.

Over all, I am very happy with the outcome and plan to keep this identity for a little while before feeling a need to change my image.
