This illustration was taken from week two - it was a scientific hand illustration of a takeaway coffee cup. This week I layered this illustration with block colours in photoshop. By adding colour to the illustration it seems less scientific and more graphic. However the addition of colour also gives more life to the object and makes it more recognisable.

This illustration was taken from week four - it is a hand illustrated comic strip about the weather. This week I layered this illustration with colours and textures in photoshop, including cloud texture, sun texture and moon texture. The addition of real life texture to the illustration makes each object more recognisable and communicates them well.

This is a simple hand illustration of a flower. I then scanned the illustration onto the computer and layered it with real life textures in photoshop. The illustration still looks relatively graphic however it also has a real life connection/reference.
21 August, 2014.
This illustration was taken from week one - an illustration of my favourite part of the day. The original image was illustrated and coloured in illustrator. However this time I layered the illustration with real life texture in photoshop. The illustration still looks partly graphic however it now has a real life connection/reference through relevant textures.
22 August, 2014.
This illustration was taken from week two - it was a scientific hand illustration of a leaf. This week I layered this illustration with real life texture in photoshop. I found this extremely effective as in week two I struggled to illustrate the intricate detail and texture of the leaf, however by using photoshop I was able to mimic/portray its detail through relevant real life textures.
23 August, 2014.
This illustration was taken from week two - it was the same scientific hand illustration of a leaf as above. My process was the exact same as for the above image, however in this one I attempted to portray the detail and texture of a dead leaf.

This is a digital illustration that communicates a section of an interior space that I designed for an Interior Design Project. I layered the illustration with a combination of both block colouring and real life textures. By incorporating textures, the materials within the space and their intended colour/look were more easily communicated.
