This book is a personal visual interpretation of the song "Tell me a Joke" by Quadeca.
The lyrics reflect a sense of disillusionment and self-awareness. To me it felt like an anxious inner monologue which led me to turn the book into a mixed medium piece to metaphorically represent the protagonists personal journal. I used messy handwriting fonts to further represent this, with the "Outlaw" being the main archetype in mind.
I curated each spread to visualize the lyrics, with blue being the primary color. The multiple layers of paint and paper are a suggestion of the emotional layers and complexity of the song. The rest of the spreads include themes of fragmentation, theatrical metaphors, visual noise, symbolism, anxiety, judgement, despair, helplessness, and paranoia.
