Ravangla is a tranquil town in the Himalayan foothills, hidden among the lush green sceneries of Sikkim. When I arrived at the sacred grounds of the Buddha Park, set on a hillside above the town, the path I was on took an unexpected turn. The magnificent statue of Lord Buddha, standing 130 feet tall, dominated the scene. The statue's grandeur was impressive, but it was the sense of serenity and peace that pervaded the entire region that truly stayed with me.
