On and From The Bay Bridge

The Bay Bridge runs west to east from San Francisco to Oakland across the San Francisco Bay in California. It is otherwise known as the San Francisco- Oakland bridge. It consists of two sections, West and East spans connected by a tunnel.

The unique features include being the longest suspension bridge in the USA, a double deck section with unidirectional traffic, a wide bore tunnel through the Yerba Buena Island rocks, and continuous reengineering since its inception.

It forms part of the Interstate 80 highway and supposedly carries about 260,000 vehicles a day between San Francisco and Oakland.

These photos were shot to document the beauty of this magnificent structure and its surroundings as well as tell a story about the traffic pattern through its various segments.
