As a part of the Coordinated Sciences Lab within the College of Engineering, I designed a logo for a student-run conference called the Symposium on Emerging Topics in Control and Modeling. Each year the topic changes, but the conference has tackled everything from smart grid to bioengineering to networked systems.
The main concept of the logo was to use imagery that's very basic to control problems in engineering; in this case, the lines mimic a spiral-system trajectory. Purposely not including a specific topic name in the graphic, this logo was intended to be used year after year.
