Nexus of Dreams
(Exploring Hypnagogia, Hypnosis, and the God of Sleep)
Hand-drawn graphics exhibited at the 'Dev9t' Heavy Industry Festival, with the theme 'Pendulum'
July '21 Belgrade, Serbia
Hypnagogia
is a neurological phenomenon where states of sleep and wakefulness merge, creating unusual experiences that are often misconstrued and mistaken for the paranormal. Hypnagogic hallucinations frequently lead to confusion as it becomes challenging to differentiate between hallucinations and reality. This triptych represents the state of consciousness and visions experienced after hypnosis, capturing the imagery perceived by an individual while gazing at a hypnotic pendulum and descending into a trance.

City of Dreams
The lower drawing represents the abstraction of a series of pendulum frames (used for hypnosis) merged into a singular moment, forming an imaginary landscape. Meanwhile, the upper drawing portrays an intervention on this imaginary landscape in the form of a city or installation resembling a city from a distance, which serves as the inspiration for the title of this work.
Hypnos
the Roman equivalent known as Somnus, was the god of sleep and the personification of dreams. The depicted drawing represents the abstracted trajectory of the hypnotic pendulum, overlapping a series of frames capturing its movement. By merging these sequences into a singular moment, an amorphous shape emerges.
