Blockbuster Rebranding Project

This was a self initiated project i took on during my third year of university. Blockbuster is a company that many of us were very fond of growing up. Going to Blockbuster to rent a film or game used to be an exciting experience and something you would always look forward to. Blockbuster however, failed to keep up to date with current trends within the digital market and have since been run out of business by their competitors that had foreseen the the changes in digital media. 
 
I decided to re-brand blockbuster and create a new brand identity that works within the current industry and is interactive across all available medias. I created all the necessary digital platforms for Blockbuster to compete with the current industry leaders. I also came up with a concept called Blockbuster Cinema Club which would allow their subscribers to watch a new cinema film at home for a set price once a month. I know their are some problems with this concept such as piracy but i feel as though this would be the next step in film rentals and would be a good way for Blockbuster to mark itself as the the industry leader again.I also decided to create an advertising campaign that uses recognisable movie quotes to promote the rebrand of Blockbuster and their new services.
