Dumouchel / Matrices et estampes

Dumouchel: matrices et estampes, an exhibition devoted to the key role played by matrices in the work of Albert Dumouchel (1916-1971), takes place at the Centre de design de l'UQAM this spring, thanks to the work of curators Peggy Davis and Nicole Milette. The presentation of some fifty matrices accompanied by prints consequently illustrates the approach of this experimental artist for whom creation was a perpetual research process. For this exhibition, a campaign and signage program was created, anchored in the printmaking technique. Taking as a point of pride the matrix and its resultant, the campaign unfolds a typographic game completed in posters, title wall and giant banners, all mounted on white or black canvas for a convincing otherness and impact.
