This redesign was a project assignment for my course, Digital Animations. We were to reimagine how characters and their environment from a fairytale looked like. The theme I worked with was Hansel and Gretel, and this is what I came up with. 

The main theme of my designs are based on the lolita aesthetic. This aesthetic is known make people look more innocent or child-like, and I used this aesthetic to reflect the fact that it is a children's story.

This is the prop we were to design - mine being Hansel's cage. I went through multiple revisions for this design and finalized with this. It is covered with a curtain as a way to show that the witch in the story is preventing Hansel from seeing outside, taking away all his freedom. It is designed to fit together with Hansel's own design.
