I had the unique opportunity to join biological, physical and chemical oceanographers on board Research Vessel Sarmiento de Gamboa for a whole month. As I sampled thousands of liters of water, I also closely studied my environment and its protagonists. I was privileged enough to coordinate the expedition's blog, where I narrated my first experiences in the field, but also the parallel universe that is born in such a unique setting.
