The Crime Bulletin

The illustration depicts the cliché style of mid-20th century newspaper cover, reporting a not so the details of a not so typical crime.
The design features certain techniques that I used to support the authenticity and realistic representation of the a news paper from the late 1900s such as: use of a battered-roughened paper background, a suitable font to provide pressure on the story telling rhythm, the very-typical newspaper format design from the 1900s and etc.
I produced this illustration for a media-studies assignment of a friend/colleague who directed an opening-sequence, the plot was setup in the late 1960s, and stuck strictly to a film-making genre of crime, death, mystery and horror!
