One of the assignments in ARTS 222 was to create a brochure about a certain location. I chose Bora Bora. I wanted the design to reflect the atmosphere and feel of this location so I incorporated bright colors, playful illustrations, and bright images. I wanted to include information that would be helpful to someone who may be interested in traveling. I not only wanted the brochure to be informative and just give details about what to do, eat, and where to stay but I wanted it to be visually interesting. The cut-outs were one way to do this. This was also a great way to show the landscape of Bora Bora. Creating this layered, dimensional effect as well as showing off this effect in a mockup pushed me to think creatively and learn the importance trial and error.
