Inspired by Beyonce's song Alien Superstar I created a very involved alien look that incorporates a high fashion photography aesthetic.

You can find a detailed tutorial on the look below
or scroll for some pictures from the process.
I used my sketch on the top left corner as a guide for this look.
To create the cheekbone prosthetics I started with sculpting them on a life cast using clay. Then I sanded it and gave it some texture using a toothbrush.
With clay I created a barrier around the sculpt and filled it up with plaster.
I removed the two plaster pieces and filled them with gelatin thus creating two prosthetic cheekbones.
I made the big bald cap by building a thicker head using clay. After that, I created a bump on each side and smoothed it with water and sandpaper. I stippled about fifteen layers of latex and carefully removed the final product.
For the ears, I used some clay pieces I sculpted that resembled the ears I wanted to create and, after some layers of latex, the prosthetic points were formed.
Before the application of the bald cap I used wide pieces of cotton to provide the necessary padding. Using layers of latex I blended the edges of the bald cap, the cheeks and the ears to my face.
For the paintjob I used a very bright grey as a base and built up tecture using a sea sponge and darker shades of grey.
