The image below is the version I will take further and use as a cellulose transfer to be re-worked with paint, biro and fineliner- before adding the top detail

Below is a screen cap of what the sketch looked like in its 3rd stage- when I tested the constructions and other Heath Robinson inspired images on the top... This one looks a lot  happier than the sad expression I was aiming for...

These few above were a bit more dodgy- and ended up looking more like Harry and the Hendersons- I had to change the mouth a few times- thanks to the liquify tool, and skew layers added back onto the 1st layer.

I was a bit worried in places as some of the drawings started to look a little like Venom (from spider man ) and the Slave trader (Limbo) from The Planet of the Apes. 

A few other variations...

I have a series of 4 big pieces in mind- and an accompanying narrative- to go with each of the images... All being well - the big idea is to make a finished book... Thanks for looking...
