About Us: Bridging the gap Program: Current cosmetology approved curriculum covers 90% of straight Eurocentric hair and less than 10% on afro textured hair. Given how much the world is changing with diversity being the pillar of a progressive world. The beauty Industry in Alberta needs to come up and address these gaps and it’s no longer funny or comfortable to turn away a paying client because their hair is non-straight.& Black potential cosmetology graduates as well are caught up in this cycle; why should anyone pay over so much in attending a cosmetology school for 1 year and upon graduation you are not equipped with the skill to take care of your own hair? Well, in this case that anyone is not just anyone, that is my experience. Yes I went anyway because I would not be allowed to open a salon and even when I receive my license, I still don’t have the skills to serve my own people. After 13 years of running my successful salon, I’ve trained dozens of cosmetologists and help them acquire their licenses while giving them the skills the current industry miss, this is why we present you KULTURE INSTITUTE OF COSMETOLOGY; a balanced approach to cosmetology education.
