Howell Conservation Fund

Howell Conservation Fund
The client had worked for years doing conservation work cleaning the oceans and beaches to aid in healing the waters of the world. Howell Conservation Fund (HCF) needed a logo and Identity system that would work well with their already established organization. The client wanted something clean but would stand as a piece of iconography, an Envoy for the brand, and uphold the brand ideal: Tenax Propositi.
Process
We started wide with ideas that focused on very purposeful design that incorporated the idea of the humanitarian touch and the environment.
Result
Ultimately we incorporated the idea of the ocean and a prominent flag within the logo. The Flag stands as a symbol of ownership and purpose-- "I am putting my flag on this". The elements of the design are encapsulated in an emblem. The design was inspired by Merit Badge patches which are earned through completing different tasks often incorporating volunteer and conservation work. Thematically the incorporation of the heraldic flag imagery with the "Merit Badge" look and feel made for an effective logo for the HCF.
