I constantly find myself drawing inspiration from drag queens, from character design to fashion to gender performance; we have so much to learn from the community. One drag queen I keep going back to is Crystal Methyd, a vibrant, eclectic queen, that combines the fashion sensibilities of queer club culture from the 80s & 90s with the playfulness of a 5 year old dressing up her dolls. Here’s an illustration of one of my favorite costumes by her, she enjoys being an eye sore and so do I with my color palettes!
