Kadaň (German: Kaaden) is a town in Chomutov district of the Czech Republic. It lies on the banks of the river Ohře. Kadaň is a tourist centre with highlights being the Franciscan Monastery and the historical square with late Gothic Town Hall Tower. The town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument reservation.
The famous local mountain of Kadan is the Úhošť (German: Burberg). It belongs to the Doupovské hory mountains (German: Duppauer Gebirge). Úhošť is a Vulcanic plateau which has a distinctive steppe flora. It has been dedicated as a National Natural Monument in the 1970s.
