The College Board, which conducts SAT, has not set up any eligibility requirements for applicants. This test was originally called the Scholastic Aptitude Test, then the Scholastic Assessment Test and now more commonly known as the SAT.

For Ivy League colleges, a score of 1400 more is considered good. At a mid-level university, a score between 1200 - 1400 can be considered good. For those who plan to attend a community college, a score of 1000 - 1200 will work. The College Board has stated that a good SAT score does not guarantee admission to an excellent college or university. Your application should match all requirements like your overall profile, admission essays, GPA, etc.

The SAT exam is divided into two sections - 1. Reading, Writing, and 2.Mathematics. These two sections are scored on a 200-800 point scale, for a maximum score of 1600 i.e. total score
