MX LRN - Brand Identity

Visual Identity for 
MX LRN Solutions 
(Student Brief)

[MX] LRN Solutions LTD designs and develops Digital Exploratory Learning Platforms for the education sector involving collaboration with a variety of schools, colleges & private providers such as museums and visitor centres. 

Working alongside MX LRN Solutions, I was tasked to rebrand MX LRN's existing identity (Student Brief) and present a brand new platform to the client. The aim; to increase the value of the brand, its offer and ultimately its functionality.
Ideology and Intention
MX LRN focuses on changing the way that students learn and this should be reflected in the design language. A solution to this is to aim for the platform to feel as far away from traditional learning methods as possible (i.e. textbooks). This can be achieved by using minimal text per screen and 3D visuals.

The existing proposition was simply a branded cover for Microsoft Teams which students would upload their work. However, having researched other similar products on the market and the ambitions the client had, an app was presented as a better solution.

To allow the target audience to most easily engage with the platform, an app will be the most effective point of contact. Research shows that mobile devices are used  3 times more than desktop devices.
The aim is for the platform to be as engaging as possible and using animations and high quality 3D illustration can assist this. It should feel familiar and obvious to navigate so that students of all ages can use it. The nature of the layout is such that it is transferable to external locations such as museums and other similar external venues.
The structure is designed so that it takes advantage of the unlimited space that digital devices provide. Instead of bunching all of the content on a single page, the text is split between several slides making the content easier for the student to follow and easier for the teaching professional to create a linear lesson structure.

Due to the nature of the environment in which the platform will be used, phones may not always be allowed by the users. For this reason the app should also be compatible with tablet devices.
Landing Page
The site will launch to an abstract landing page which the user will explore with thier mouse or swipe. This will quickly unlock the full site and become more appropriately corporate but with the tone of the brand already set. This abstract concept will immediately create a unique and fresh image of the concept whilst maintaining the integrity requires for more corporate buyers/ clients.
Campaign
The platform would be advertised through a series of short format videos which aim to make the platform a site that students ask thier parents and tutors to investigate rather than purely through corporate channels. This could be achieved through challenges and hashtags which relate to the app.
