Rococo Magazine
This project was one of the most fun projects I have ever completed! I created a Rococo inspired magazine and sourced actual products that resemble the Rococo Period, as if this magazine was actually created in that time. All of the pieces included in this magazine were sourced locally.
This is the cover of my magazine, titled Bonjour Belle. This means Hello, Beautiful in French! I also added small captions on both sides of Marie Antionette, to convey that this was a magazine cover.
Page 1 of the magazine covers interiors. The class I created this for was an interior design history class, so I wanted to add aspects of things we learned in the class. I wanted to stick to the colors and wall paper that was commonly used in the Rococo Period.
It took multiple trips to vintage stores and thrift stores to find some of these pieces. I even found a few at the local boutique I worked at! I wanted to make sure each piece truly reflected the Rococo style. I added patterns on a few of the pages that also resembled the wallpaper or paintings of the Rococo era. I chose to use Marie Antionette as the cover, because she is one of the most iconic, if not the most iconic, figure from that period.
This is another page of interiors! I am heavily influenced by the Rococo Period in my personal design taste, so sourcing these items was a lot of fun for me! Fun fact: I had almost the exact gold chest in my room as a child! My love for this period started at an early age.
Page 3 takes us to the accessories! As a fashion student, I could not resist adding in some pieces of clothing that reminded me of this era. I again kept the color scheme and wallpapers used in this era, to make the magazine seem as if it was truly from the Rococo Period.
The Rococo period is my favorite historical period. I had a lot of fun putting myself in the mindset of people from that time and sourcing corresponding products for the magazine. I would love to continue this magazine one day and add newer pieces that we inspired by the Rococo era.
Page 4 is my favorite! These items were sourced from the boutique I used to manage. The earrings scream Marie Antionette!
