This is a Josef Albers project - Homage to the Square.
I created 3 new documents that are each 2 inches by 2 inches with 300 ppi resolution in RGB color space. Also, I used the fill/paint bucket tool to fill in the background layer with the color you selected. After going through all the steps, The project came to life.
