Redesigned U.S. Currency - Alexander McCoy Design

For this project my goal was to redesign the United States currency. My strategy was to create a system of national symbolism combined with patriotic colors. I believe the final product was representative of these goals and met the aesthetic I wished to achieve.

One Dollar Bill - The Bald Eagle is undoubtedly as American as it gets. I wanted to capture the bold, austere look of the eagle to exhibit the powerful qualities of our nation, as well as the natural grace an eagle shows during flight.
Five Dollar Bill - Although straightforward in design, the Washington Monument stands for something greater than what is seen at face value. The monument located in the nation's capital serves as a marker of freedom and strength for which America entails. The combination with the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool on the back of the bill makes for a more abstract and riveting composition for the five dollar bill.
Twenty Dollar Bill - Off the shores of the bustling business hub of America, New York, you'll find The Statue of Liberty proudly standing on Ellis Island. Lady Liberty has always portrayed the quality of liberty the United States stands for and including it on this system of currency was a clear decision. Also included is the skyline of New York, something very representative of the success and standing of the United States in the global sense.

Included is an example of what one might see at a standard ATM withdrawal. I believe it is important to visualize designs that would be theoretically be used in the real world.
