The Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences was established in 1988 through the General Assembly of the union of Arab Banks,. It operates within the framework of the Joint Arab Action system and is headquartered in Cairo, Egypt.
The Academy is a member of the Economic and Social Council, the Higher Committee for Joint Arab Action Institutions , and the Council of Arab Economic Unity. It is considered one of the leading and specialized institutions in the fields of education and training, which since its inception has been developing and raising the professional and scientific competence of workers in the administrative, financial and banking fields in a ll parts of the Arab World.
