Gig Poster for Illenium

In this assignment, the goal was to create a poster for a gig, band, or artist to advertise an event for. As a huge EDM fan, I chose my favorite artist Illenium and made up an musical event to create a poster for. The requirements for this project were to take materials or photographs of our own making to utilize in the design. The made up event is called "The Phoenix Tour" and will take place on October 3rd at The Van Buren in Phoenix, Arizona.
Process and Sketches
During my brainstorming process, I knew I wanted to utilize Illenium's Phoenix logo and I was heavily inspired by his past "Trilogy" show.
Materials
I decided to make Illenium's Phoenix logo a cut out or "hole" so an image can be inserted inside. The photo to the right is a picture I took myself when I attended his Trilogy show live. Since he uses a lot of symbolic fire and flame elements in his brand, I took a lighter and burned the inner edges of the cutout and used the fire to burn a smoky look into the paper.
