Lounge chair poster
for Vitra

In summer of the year 2020 I was participating in graphic design challenge organized by Vitra Brand, Stroganov Moscow State Academy of Arts and Industry and All-Russian Decorative Art Museum.

The goal was to analyze Vitra The Original furniture through sketching, then choose one object and create a poster that would reflect a special idea.

After choosing Lounge Chair by Charles and Ray Eames and while designing the poster I tried to tell the viewer how spacious and comfortable this chair is. If you’ve ever had an opportunity to sit in it, then you understand what qualities I’m talking about.

On the poster you can see a man falling down. He symbolizes anxiety and exhaustion — things that every human faces after work day by day. In the end the Lounge Chair meets him. A man will “slide” into the chair and will immediately realize that at the moment he is safe and sound. He will relax and gain strength for the greatest things.

My poster was presented at the exhibition in All-Russian Decorative Art Museum:

Below you can get acquainted with some of my sketches made during the practicing:
