These are some of the photos I shared in my final portfolio last year and I think they display my best work so far :)
1. I like the light in this picture. Specifically the way the outside of the rose is highlighted and the inside has a shadow. It gives it a semi-ominous, dark-fantasy feel. I also like how my model's arm blends right into the shadows at the end so you can't really see where it is coming from. The stark contrast between the white ring light and dark room make really nice clean lines, which I find pleasing to the eye.
2. Like the other photo, I love the lighting in this picture. How you can only see half her face, how it makes her eyes pop, and the orange on her shoulder vibrant.
3. This picture gives me AI vibes. I really like all of the clean lines, stark contrasts and how the highlights turned out. I 10/10 would recommend playing with a ring light! :)
4. For Photographer of the Day we looked at Vivian Maier and her reflection "selfie" photos. I decided to mimic them using school bus mirrors and I really like how they turned out. I really like how I got both mirrors in the photo making it have some kinda cool repetition and how sharp the camera details are in the first mirror.
5. Now we Get to the colour photos! Starting off, I really like the contrast between the petals and leaves. I also like how the front flowers are focused the back ones are more blurred. Guess who finally got their aperture settings right!?!?
6. This picture is one of my 2 favorite contrast photos I've taking. Blue and yellow are opposites on the colour wheel and complement each other very well. The colour of the water versus that yellow post is pretty much my favourite thing to exist on this earth.
7. This is a photo I took at Shack Island as a part of the time machine challenge. I'm really into texture and there was a lot of that in this picture. Plus I was just starting to learn about the more vintage editing style. (That was fun too!)
8. Coombs. Another more vintage-esk picture I really liked the little sparkly fairy lights and Snow White's cottage vibe in this picture. That being said if I were take/edit it again I would tone the grain down a little bit and try to maybe brighten it a little more.
