Univen Community Radio News 99.8 FM celebrated 24 years of existence since its inception on 05 September 1997. It airs on the 99.8 FM frequency.The Community Radio Station is located in Thohoyandou at the Thulamela Municipality. The Station’s broadcasting radius covers the Vhembe and Mopani district municipality, Mutale local municipality, North of Kruger National Park on the eastern side.
The main languages of broadcast are English, Tshivenda ,Sepedi & Xitsonga. The station strives for excellence in quality programming, contributes towards skills development and training and provides the platform for the community to address and understand issues of politics, agriculture, sports, gender, ethnicity, economic, youth development, women and children, education, entrepreneurship, religion and race. Their target markets is students, youth, young adults and elders.

Happy Birthday to Radio Khwezi! Today they are celebrating 25 years on air!Since 1995, Radio Khwezi, which means the morning star in isiZulu, has been the daily companion of individuals and families, most of whom are from rural communities in the Natal midlands and north coast areas. Over 150 000 listeners tune in daily to the wide range of programmes delivered in true local flavour and range from current and international affairs, educational programmes, talk shows, music and dramas.

Radio Khwezi works together with the communities it serves, to develop, produce and broadcast quality programmes that aim to educate and uplift the listeners. It draws on the rich talent in their community for various programmes including the rich voices of local choirs and gospel artists.
 95% of the programmes are in isiZulu, from 4AM to 12PM, with 1 German hour a day, from 2 PM – 3 PM. The station broadcasts on frequencies 90.5 FM and 107.7 FM and also boasts a large online audience with listeners across the world.

Happy Birthday to UCR Fm 97.0-Official (UCRFM)! Eastern Cape is home to UCRFM 97.0, a station that represents development and action. “your voice, your joy”.
UCR-FM covers the entire O.R Tambo region and beyond. The latest stats from the station show that they have a listenership of over 450 000. According to the South African Audience Research Foundation (SAARF), UCR has 280 000 listeners belonging to Life Standards Measurement (LSM) 1 to 6; their age group is 16 to 50+ years.

They have a variety of radio shows that engage and entertain 24/7. Located in Mthatha, (considered to be the most prominent and fastest developing urban area on the eastern side of the Eastern Cape Province), UCRFM broadcasts in Xhosa, English, Zulu and Sotho.
