LIKE LOTUS SUTRA

///My love for the world and all its beings is so deep, it is so great, that, like a bodhisattva, my head splits so I may see to all of them.///

This split portrait is a reference to Avalokiteśvara. I portray them here with glowing ivory eyes and eosin glazed ceramic skin. The latter substance is a pride of my hometown: Pécs, Hungary. The text reads "南無妙法蓮華経", a subliminal message written on a Silent Hill monster. The Art Director Masahiro Ito translated it as "like Lotus Sutra", however, it also translates as a common chant "Namu Myōhō Renge Kyō" or "Glory to the Dharma of the Lotus Sutra".

THE SPIRIT OF THE PLACE visual media series is centred around the exciting, eerie feeling when archaic mysticism and folk ideas merge with everyday surroundings. My goal is to inspire awe, tell imaginative stories, and promote my aesthetic philosophy.
