They say that there are two different perspectives to every argument; this is arguably especially true for the infamous and controversial debates. For example, take what happened back in November of 2020, football player Edison Cavani made an Instagram post, and immediately the world took one of two sides.
In that post, Cavani used a Latin-Spanish phrase that got him into a fair bit of trouble, despite the thousands of friends and fans that spoke up in his defense. According to the outspoken lot, the phrase didn’t have the negative connotation of reading into it. The phrase was a term of friendship, as opposed to one of racism. and I could confirm it. Just imagine that my mother tends to call me “negrito”, even though my skin is not very pigmented, to put it in some way.
