MANNEQUINS AND COORDINATING BACKDROP

task: create a mannequin display with coordinated backdrop
process: under normal circumstances, students would purchase (and return!) desired clothing for mannequin styling, but since we were working under the unique challenges brought forth by covid-19, we had to go through a different process. before we could do anything else, we had to think about what we had in our closets individually and how we could bring everything together in order to create two coordinated looks. after the looks were finalized, we came up with the idea for the backdrop, et voila!

FASHION AND LIGHTING COORDINATION

task: style and light a female bust form
process: I knew right away I wanted to use this particular skirt so I kept it as the starting point to style the bust form. the styling is pretty simple (a trendy print on the skirt paired with some more classic pieces) and I think the varying lengths on the hemlines and sleeves add some visual interest and movement. the blue in the background lighting helps to emphasize the orange-y tones in the jacket, creating a complementary colour scheme

THEMED MANNEQUINS AND BACKDROP

task: create a themed mannequin "window" display
process: again, pulling from our own closets, we had to create coordinating looks and then make a theme come to life for a make-shift window display
