Every typeface has a unique personality, tone and usage. It's essential that we use a proper typeface pertaining to the context that is given. One of my favourite fonts is Garamond as it has a rustic yet friendly look. It is a stylish and smooth serif font and was used as the google logo as well.
Expressive typography is where the word depicts what it symbolizes itself. I tried expressive typography using Garamond, where almost every element of the word was a part of the typeface itself .
I was surprised to see the result of how just by using very limited elements I was able to show the meaning of the text, so then I planned to take a step forward and explore expressive typography with different fonts and play with visual elements, by illustrating the meaning of the word along with the letters.
