AX-2 was inspired by the 1920's Harlem Renaissance. My goal with this shoot was to exhibit 1920's trends in 2020's styles.
I also aimed to show afro hairstyles because African-Americans in the 1920's were evolving into a society that did not appreciate their blackness, so many of the hair styles worn by famous Black creatives were slick and straight opposed to big and curly.
The succeeding photos are what I imagine if we entered a New Era Black Renaissance.
