Interactive Clothing

From pants that help you perfect your tree pose to clothing that grows with your child- fashion is quickly adapting to become more innovative and socially conscious. This is largely due to the rise in technological research, with the internet it is easy to learn anything, or, at least find the resources to do so. Technology is also a key part of audiences everyday life- what attracts them as a consumer reflects this. After all how many times have you found yourself asking “it’s great but does it have wifi?”
Designers no longer want to stick to the usual needle and thread and ready to wear concepts. Rather they seek to make use of advancements, fashion can come from an architect, designers explore UI in clothing. The lines between disciplines are blurring.
With this in mind I thought about the message of our clothing: to release your inner troubles. As a designer, I am also a problem solver. I decided to create wearable QR codes that link to mental health helpline numbers. Making use of a QR codes 30% error rate I was able to use lettering and colour to great effect.
