Deconstructivist Architecture Poster

Guggenheim Museum Bilbao
Deconstructivist / Frank Gehry / 1997
Deconstructavist architecture emerged from post modernism in the 80’s and sought to challenge pre-conceived beliefs surrounding reason and logic. It was an attempt to move away from the idea that ‘form follows function’ and was based upon theories by French philosopher Derrida. Characteristics of the style include fragmentation and manipulation of surfaces, that look as if the building could have been assembled then reassembled.
The poster is inspired by Deconstructivist graphic design popularised in the mid-1990s
