Wunderkammer (Cabinet of Curiosities)

Wunderkammer
(Cabinet of Curiosities)
Also known as Cabinets of Wonder, these rooms were filled with collections of objects.
The classic cabinet of curiosities emerged in the sixteenth century. The merchant class and the early practitioners of science in Europe formed collections that later turned into museums known to us today.
In modern days these objects would be categorised as belonging to natural history, geology, archaeology, religion, relics works of art and antiquities.

The assignment was to create a Cabinet of this type, situated near the city of Oliero (Italy) and placed in a natural setting.
At the same time the architectural design of the building would answer all the requests of a modern museum.
