It had just started snowing in Vancouver when I hopped on a plane to Los Angeles to visit some old friends and escape the cold. Good thing I brought a jacket cause sunny California gets chilly in winter, yes I was surprised too. Jokes aside though, it was an interesting experience after all, it being my first time in LA I had somewhat of a picture in mind that changed on arrival. I saw how spread out the city was and how hectic traffic can be on the 405, I felt the ocean waves that I grew up seeing in surf films pushing the board under my feet as I draw lines while dodging the crowd. We drove past places I recognized from famous movies, stepped on stars and looked at both new and old art. We had good food and went to Rock & Roll bars on Sunset Boulevard, we had a well made old fashioned downtown on the 70 something floor where the urinals are basically a window overlooking the downtown. We dried our wetsuits, woke up early, jumped back into the cold water and started a new day.
